unit 306 challenging discrimination case study
Mike is working in an inner city junior school which has very few children who are from white british backgrounds. Although the school has an inclusive policy and has a no tolerance view on any form of discrimation, mike has sometimes had to deal with some incidents of bullying and racial discrimination on the playground. On this occasion a white child who is new to the school has come up to him and told him that a girl has said to her that she cannot play with them because she wont understand their game as she is white.
What should Mike do?
What should he say to the group of girls?
Should he follow up the incident in any way?
Please help me as I am struggling with the answers.
