Default Chicken Pox

My son has just got Chicken Pox today. I seem to have heard allsorts of different opinions on how long you need to keep the child away from others.

What have you been told/read?

We ask mums to keep them away until the spots have scabbed over and no new ones are appearing - but saying that if little one is still not well then we ask them to keep them at home ...they get so tired bless them

DD still had new ones appearing after eight days when she had it (just over a week ago).

We should have been going away this weekend but it doesn't look like it will be possible since the first spots only appeared yesterday (Monday).

Our Local Authority contagious diseases leaflet specifies that children should be kept away from nursery until ALL spots have scabbed over! This is because its the yellow puss that oozes from the scabs allows the illnes to be passed on! (like my description? lol)
