Default unit 410 K4M378

Appropriate agencies for referral of children when you have concerns about a child's development.
I have written lots about the types of agencies and their roles and focused on Speech and language therapists for unit 409 but really stuck on support for children when you are concerned about their creativity development?? what support is there? Anyone done this question on unit 410 yet?

I presume you've written of observing, seeing a concern, the setting's senco (working with keyworker/colleagues) putting an IEP in place /early years action.

if you still have a concern contact your area Senco, who will come out and assess and then your setting may well become part of a multi-agency team depending what will be best for the child - salt (you've mentioned) , health visitor, educational pyschologist, portage worker, music therapist, pediactric consultant, ear, nose and throat consultant (sorry I can't think of the correct term now) play therapist, occupational therapist, language translator, social worker etc - whatever is deemed best for an individual child.

You may have just the initial meeting and everything is put into place, or the help may be ongoing indefinitely or for a limited period to help a child. You will all be working together - remember the parents are always included and consulted (and asked from the outset of course).

I have been at meetings where the parents have not chosen what the so called 'expects' (including the setting) have thought was best for their child and their opinion/choice is always respected and nearly always followed, other than exceptional circumstances.
