Hi, this is my perspective on basic care routines
Brushing hair
Brushing teeth - dental or oral care & other routines/activities that look at: mouthwash, floss, braces/retainer, fillings, tooth loss & gain
Washing hands
Washing self
Using the toilet
Nappy changing
Nail & hand care
Foot care
Skin care
Eye care
Blowing noses
Coughing
Thumb or finger sucking/mouthing
Ability to access drinking water
Ability to access healthy food options
Ability to rest or sleep
- bedtimes, nap times times to chill out and wind down or just be somewhere quieter.
Ability to access physical play
Ability to engage in conversation
Ability to seek comfort or reassurance
First aid treatment
Know hot and know cold
Know wet and know dry
Ability for everyone to discuss concerns/new information/existing information and contact parent/carers without specific or specified permission.
Have available information about being around animals.
Have available information regarding religious practices/observances children and famillies have.
Have procedures in place to check for risks & hazards.
This is more information than you'll need but if you use some of them to look at how they fit with what your setting does and has in place and see how each care routine could be different/same for each age group.
EG:for brushing hair you could find yourself needing to know about
