1.How can you make use of music and sounds as part of a stimulating environment. (apart from the obvious, cd's, singing, rhymes, musical instruments, i'm stuck )

Following on from the other reply how about audio games. There are lots of game son the market such as sound lotto or 'Crash, Bang, Wallop'
Use a tape recorder to record things such as household noises and or machines for them to listen and identify; or emotions such as crying, laughing, etc
Allowing the children to record themselves and play back - or do this as a group - singing or reciting.
Record outdoor sounds - I've just recorded young blue tits in a nest box in my garden to accompany digital photographs that I've taken of the parents coming and going from the nest.
If your setting has it's own garden perhaps you may wish to put up wind chimes - bought or softer sounding ones made by the children.
You can take musical instruments outside (you can buy large outdoor musical equipment) and you can also hold a music and/or singing session outside.
Making music themselves -clapping, stamping, whistling etc
