was wondering if any1 cud help mw with this question... why is it important for children to ask questions, offer ideas and suggestions and how you can help them to do this.

This is not a definate answer but the things that spring to mind are that they need to feel valued and respected as individuals in the setting ( listened to)You could have story time or circle time etc... it builds their self confidence and self esteem etc...

look up "scaffolding" its a theory on how children learn, i think by bruner.

if they dont ask questions they dont find things out, arnt expressing thoughts and ideas and arnt learning good communication skills. its so they are good self advocates and are able to ask for things and give ideas in the future. so they are confident etc.
