a bit of digging..............theres your problem you need to read an understand the theories in order to be a successful level 3 practitioner. the text book is just a reader not a proper book. read about piaget vygotsky bandura montessori and bruner then your entire practice will benefit and the answer will be easy

I really struggled with this one too Jozi, I spent hours researching and reading and getting my head around all the theorists, look at one at a time understand their theory like tutu said, and then try and think how it relates your practice, here's a few hints :) it could be something you do or how it has helped to put strategies in place, how other professionals go about their work and these professionals may have involvement with your children, has a theory helped with the school curriculum, etc etc. I gained lots of knowledge from this unit, it's worth taking the time and understanding it all, at first i read the answers but still didn't understand it, stick with it x x

Hi, this can be so daunting, as recommended take some time to research, it will come together for you xx

These may help to start ..

Attatchment theory - John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth - key person systems

Jean Piaget on openlearn and basic introduction from Educationscotland

One educational approach that influences practice & frameworks is Reggio Emilia - also from Education Scotland

A nice beginning that familiarises a reader with some of the many threorists is the How children learn series by Linda Pound & Cathy Hughes, maybe ask if your library has a copy available?

Best wishes with it xx

Default Linking theories - Thank you

Just wanted to say thank you!
I did alot of reading on the internet and found lots more info and finally finished, took me a little longer than i thought but at least i get it now.

This website & the people that use it are just the best. I've nearly completed my Level 3 Diploma in supporting teaching & learning and without the people that post on here i would have gone a bit loopy.

Thanks again.
Jo
