is a good book, maybe you can borrow/order it from your local library.

I used this book for my development chart for NVQ4. Its a great book to have. If you can afford it I would recommend you buy it. You will use it within your setting too.

Try using the book I suggested above - you can do a development chart really easily with that and you will learn so much more than if you have someone elses lol

Have to say I agree with sparky on that one - people should really try and make own charts - the books are out there..you don't have to buy them, you can borrow from library. You'll find you get so much more from making your own, plus the books have far more information than just 'child development chart' information they'll give ideas for activities etc. xx

Hi
I've checked this with my local library.
They can not get hold of it, where did you get yours from?
Thanks Karen

I got mine from either Waterstones or Amazon - can't remember.

They have it at Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/redirect....creative=19450

It really is worth the money!

Hi
I found ivillage quite helpful as well. Log onto ivillage then go onto Parenting then (search) for Development charts.
I also borrowed a book from the library called CHILDREN'S CARE LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT 0-16 Years by Teena Kamen. This was really helpful for my chart.
Hope this helps Karen

I worked hard on mine for NVQ4 and it was over 20 pages (covering 0-16). I learnt so much from doing it but if someone had given me a copy I wouldn't have learnt anything :reading:. Also don't forget that you sign to say that the work in your NVQ folder is your work and not someone elses.

I took each age group and then did a table with 3 coloumns. 1 for Physical Development, 1 for Cognitive and Language Development and 1 for Emotional and Social Development. I then researched each area for the age group.

For Physical Development I broke it down further into: gross motor, fine motor and sensory development.

I hope i've helped a bit. :teacher:
