Default Nvq 4

hi there, i've recently started my NVQ4 . has anyone else out there started it?

If so, how are you finding it? i'm a bit all over the place and confused.
I think this is because we were lead to believe something else before we started the course.

Which one are you doing: Childcare & Education or the Management one?

I'm doing the Childcare & Education one. I'm a bit disappointed that most of it is written work and reflective practice rather than being observed.

ive just started CCLD level 4 i have completed unit 401 and 425 it is an awful lot of writing i feel like im writing a book at times, and no there doesnt seem too much observation involved, i am about to start unit 407 which looks more interesting than the two ive just done, or hope ive done, unit 401 is being internallly verified and 425 is being assessed, hopefully they are ok fingers crossed!

I know the feeling

I've been observed on 401 (just need to write up 401.3 and all the knowledge specifications for this unit. I've done most of 404 & 425 & 429 (again just need to do some of the knowledge specifications).

I need to get my btm into gear and get writing!!!

It'll be great to have someone to bounce ideas off

Hiya, yeah i'm doing the management one and know what you guys mean about all the writing! we were lead to believe that there was more obs than written work, then they dropped the bomb shell on us!!!
Anyway i've completed two units now and trying to plough my way through. I enjoy the optional units more, as they relate more to my areas of interest.

We should use this area to help each other out - optional units i've chosen are:
Research and develop an area of pratice ( i'm chosing the outdoor area),
contribute to the enhancement of children's early learning,
Suport and evaluate children's communication, language and literacy,
Provide leadership in your area of responsibility,
Support and evaluate the curriculum for children's early

Lot of love

well assessor says 425 looks fine i just need to get it in my folder and organised, when it comes back from the internal verifier, 401 is being internally verified.
Had some bad news my friend who is doing the nvq with me cant get into it and wants to give up, she says she hasnt got the time to get it done in a year, how long do you get to complete it ? does anyone know, i thought you could go at your own pace, although we are being encouraged to get it done in a year, on the city and guilds website it says candidates are registered for 3 years, just in case they want to take on extra units, ive told her to talk to the assessor and say how she feels.
Im plodding on with 407, half way through the per, anyone else doing this?

I got my NVQ 4 fully funded by our local sure start partnership and have 18 months to complete it.

What is 407 - haven't got my folder with me at the mo :sorry:
