Sing A Song Of Sixpence

Help please...

I've been 'singing' "Sing A Song Of Sixpence" to my daughter Jade, and I can remember the first 2 verses, but I know there is a third and it has something to do with a Jenny Wren bringing the maids' nose back! If anyone can remember I'd be grateful

Tracey

PS If you can't remember the tune, I'm not singing it!!!!

Sing a song of 6d!!!

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye;
Four and twenty blackbirds
Hide inside a pie - vegan/vegetarian/bird enthusiast friendly :)

When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Now wasn't that a dainty dish
To set before the King?

The King was in his counting house
Counting out his money;
The Queen was in the parlour
Eating bread and honey.

The maid was in the garden
Hanging out the clothes;
When down came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose.

At least, that's how I remeber this rhyme!
I cannot remember any verse with Jenny Wren bringing the maid's nose back, but will ask around for you!

Crossfingers

That's as much as I can remember too, but there's a dim(!) recollection of Jenny Wren. My mother vaguely remembers it as does Ruth.....

Many thanks for asking around.

lol ... ok after a bit of investigating I think this is the closest to it

The maid was in the garden
Hanging out the clothes;
When down came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose.

She made such a commotion,
That little Jenny Wren
Flew down into the garden
And popped it on again!

Even my dad only had a 'vague' recollection of it as well!!

Default Sing a song of 6d!!!

Well done on finding the last verse! I searched the net, but could not find it, could not really remember it. But.... now that I have read it, it does ring a bell.
Enjoy your sleep Miss Muffet!:yawn:
