Default how does a childs stage of development affect their learning?

im approaching the end of my course and really stuck on a few knowledge specs wonder if anyone could help me on this one it is K3D325

how does depending on a child's stage of development is how/what children learn and how this affects them?

I've just cut and pasted this from a reply I gave someone last week. I hope it helps you.


.........if you don't have an awareness of children's development and don't understand how a child develops (physically, emotionally, learns etc) you will not be able to plan for their next steps.

A child may be 30 months who was born prematurely may be behind with their development compared to another child who is 30 months who was not ill; so when planning an activty one may be able to climb up a frame with ease, the other may need a little help or does not want to attempt going on a climbing frame because they feel unsafe.
