no because we dont plan! we have areas of interest so have resources for PSRN but the planning comes from the personal interests shown that week.

Hi,

As recommended the timing of planning may help you identify the type of learning you're needing now.

PSRN can be found in so many if not all & any activities, writer's block has a great deal to answer for xx

If you look at the psrn area of learning, get to know how the activities and resources/toys that you provide fit in with those aims.

A few more obvious activity ideas for psrn could be
  • Jigsaws
  • Interlocking bricks build up and out
  • Filling and emptying explores quantity, measurement mathmatical language - with loose media play eg, soil, sand, water and scooping/collection tools, including tea sets, cooking pots, buckets, tractor trailers
  • Sorting - shapes / colour / size / pieces /same / different / other attribute - taste, smell, sound, touch - squishy / hard / cold / prickly / smooth ..
  • Counting beanbag tossing, ball and pin type games, stepping stones, tape measures, fingers - two little digit birds, sitting on a wall .. display decorations.
  • Tying up, knotting, threading looks at length, sequence, strength, height, reason & aim as well as number & pattern.
  • Books that focus on numbers, quantity/amounts.
    &
  • numbers as text in the environment numbers that id things - house numbers, vechile number & letter combinations, tickets for parking/venue entrance, payments - bills, shopping with coins ..
  • Pattern making, sequence & processes
  • Scales for weighing foods, loose media - luggage scales are good for bags on the go
  • Timers for measurement - stop watch, sand timers, alarm clock, digital camera provide picture evidence of time, pushing movements on sit & rides, steps to reach a pre-determined place ..
  • Clothing for dress up can be seen as creative but also explores fit, size, fastenings.
  • Play tunnels explore size, whole body & watching others in positioning, above, below, in, out, space & measurement - & involves the other areas of learning.
If you feel it helps post what interest your littlies have at the moment, anything from a rhyme parents are singing at home, an action they're enjoying, tv programme or a particular toy ..

I hope this helps a little xx
