Hi everybody,

In the scenario I have been given the parents of a visually impaired child do not want her to go on a school outing even though the risk assessment has found that it will be fine.
The setting has promoted this child's independance and adapted activities and are always considering the next developmemtal steps.

My first instinct is to explain the policies on inclusion, active participation, risk management and promoting independence etc. and then asking the parents if they'd like to accompany their child on the trip but what happens if even after all that the parents still say no?

Any suggestions will be welcome as I have been thinking about this for 2 days and don't know the best way to respond to the scenario. Thanks x
