There are lots of changes that can affect children if not managed properly the children could suffer negative effects they could become anxious about separation and strangers ,a change in sleep patterns ,eating and drinking less , withdrawn and plays be them self, subdued behaviour ,or disruptive ,being disturbed when parent has left the room, over attachment to 1 carer ,becoming tearful,. Children need to feel secure to feel confident this often comes from routines and familiarity and with small children this also comes from the same people around them .In young children they are easily frightened and feel insecure .Gradually when the children become older they can cope with changes especially if the carers have managed well with earlier changes .Children can find it hard to settle if they have had many changes in their life in turn making it harder to form friendships and relationships.

How do you provide support for babies and children under 3 years through the above changes
Lots of attention , pre warning of changes and talking about the changes even to babies tell them what you are doing try to keep changes as closes as possible to the old routine .lot of visits to the setting ,allowing an attachment to form between child and key worker ,fit around the child’s routines .it is made clear that we will support the adult and child for as long as it takes to settle in, have a warm and welcoming environment with lots of activities, make children aware of rules and regulations and expectations while at the setting , they will be introduced to staff and children, shown around ,children are allowed their comforters to help them settle in, children who are distressed will be comforted and distracted with activities ,if a child is too distressed then parents is called to collect them.

Very young children need to feel safe secure and loved and when children leave parents or have changes in their environment or routine it can be very upsetting and cause anxiety which can effect them later with other transitions .This also effects the childs confidence which will effect self esteem and resilience .We need children to be happy and feel safe in their environment so they will play and learn .

hope this helps sorry can find my notes on older years but i think it is about talking let them express what they are feeling and help be giving them some control be letting them make some choices

How can you support children through theses changes

We would work with the parents we would provide physical and verbal reassurances to the child ,Always be honest with the child ,We could use play to explore the childs worries about the change , warn and prepare the child for the change that is about to happen where possible, liaise with the new setting or care about the childs needs , arrange visits to the new setting and carers while still at the old settling.Follow settling in policies
this is for 3-5 years

Thanks for this, I done this assignment and my assessor sent me back to do it all again. Apparently, it was too long and not concise, so thanks
