Default Tech Cert ***008 Task D

Its me again have really struggles with this unit. As children and young people develo they go through transitions. Using current theories produce a plan on 1. settling in a new arrival to your setting
2. A new baby in their home
3. Preparing to move into a different childcare setting.
Thanks if anyone can help me I would be so grateful

1, Just mention when parent and child arrives for their first day make them feel welcome and that one member of staff is there to settle you both in so that the whole transition is not so uncomfortable.
2, make sure that the older child is involved with the pregnancy as much as possible and that they will be spening a few days with their grandparents while you are in hospital.
3, This could be when they are a toddler moving up into the preschool area or from preschool to reception

Hi Sandra
This might help you with planning transition to a new setting, the example I've used is from nursery to school:
To aid transition
Encourage friendships between children who will be going to the same school
Liaise with schools to negotiate suitable sessions for informal visits
Arrange for Key Worker to accompany child to new setting (a lnk with the old)
Use digital cameras to record the visit to the new setting and use these in circle time
Use photos of new setting staff to reinforce names and generate discussion about moving on
Make albums of relevant photos for each child to take homeso as to support child's discussion with parent or carer at home.

Hope this helps!
PS It's Ann Kelly from University of Gloucester Playwork Degree course- hope you are well x
