Default Risk assessment help please

Hello

I really need help

I am really in a tizz over this

we do a big risk *** every year and write down high/med/low etc and i have all the correct paperwork for this

the PLA have come in and told me that i need to have written proof of a daily check and this must be kept so ofsted can see it

we do a general check around in the morning before opening up but we do not write anything down

what needs to be on this checklist/report and how do I format it
if anyone has one that I could look at I would really appreciate this everything else I have looked at has been for childminders and not a small pre school attached to a school

also who would have overall responsibility to do this daily
what bits would be ours and what bits would be the schools
helppppppp

Hi,

Is it possible you could keep a list of necessary daily checks with the register ?
Medications, fire exits being clear, phone switched on maybe, doors, alarm, locks and other security ..
Staff meetings are good for finding out what everyone thinks is important

The responsibilities would be better sorted out with school, find out where the insurance cover stops & starts and take it from there..

Is there someone who would be willing to run through things during or at the end of the day that could be designated as the named person ?
I'm not sure about any necessary qualifications needed for H&S / risk, we liked common sense, but I am sure your local EYs team will be able to help with training & awareness opportunities..

Hth, let us know what you decide

I do a risk check every morning this is a sheet i have done myself that includes; equiptment safe[toys and other things used that session] windows, doors, toilets, any other doors we will use, rooms used ie hall etc, outdoor play area i also have a box for us to sign the time tables are antibaced, tables and chairs checked the list goes on. As manager it is my responsibility to do this before the children arrive and anyone who cleans the tables signs. I also have a door security format on the wall by the door. It has to be signed EVERY TIME it is locked and unlocked and why.
