Horrid task...CYPOP1...HELP!!!

Hi guys, so I have been asked to complete this mammoth of a task, I have read through it a number of times and not much of it is getting through to be honest...So any help at all would be appreciated muchly

Explain the benefits of the key worker/person system in your early years settings. Also include an explanation of how babies and young children learn and develop best from a basis of loving, secure relationships with carers and with key persons in the work settings.

Analyse the possible effects of poor quality attachments on the development of babies and children.

Explain how babies express their emotions, preferences and needs and describe how you demonstrate responsive care in your own practice.

Explain why it is important to manage transitions for babies and young children, provide examples of the transitions you support within your room, e.g. moving to the next room etc.

Explain when and why babies and young children require periods of quiet to rest and sleep.

Explain the primary importance of carers in the lives of babies and young children and evaluate ways of working in partnership with carers.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi, the underpinning knowledge for this is what you already know about attachment theory, separation, the reason's why we care for children, the best way to do this and children's development - what responses and actions they have eg. focussing a gaze, smiling, grasping, mouthing objects, crying.

The better reading to help get to grip with these ideas are in the level 2 handbook - cache on amazon check page 73 & 74 of the preview and also search for transitions / attachment / partnership

xx

With key person, explain what you do as a key person and the bonds you form.

How do children feel when they are around someone they have a secure attatchment to?how does this differ if they are not there?

Break poor quality attachments down ,., e.g.

Effects on social and emotional development:
Emotional security:
Effects on ability to settle:
Possible effects on short and long term mental health:
Effects on relationships with parents and professional carers:

4.3 :: Responsive care may include where carer responds sensitively, consistently and promptly, responses are sensitive to individual needs and preferences, consistency of response and responding promptly and managing situations to avoid delay..
think.. how does a baby communicate? Crying etc.

why babies need rest... to learn! research Sleep Matters

hope some of this helps.. let me know if not.
