It is important that CRB checks etc are done for opbvious reasons, but it is also important to check that adults are the right type of people to work with children. For example:
Show empathy
Are non discriminatory
Have an appropriate knowledge of children and their development.

To sum up, it is important to ensure that adults who work with children are suitable according to regulatory requirements so that:
The setting may be suitably registered with Ofsted,
and more importantly so that the children benefit from the best care and attention from the adults who work with them.

Hope this helps
Ann

Don't forget to mention the benefit to children of CRB checks - child protection and keeping children safe.
They haven't got a voice and are totally reliant of adults to protect them, so those in trusted positions of working with them, must be of the correct calibre and cleared to work with this vulnerable section of society.
