Having clearly defined rules about how they should treat each other, the staff and the property at the setting.
Verbal praise and postive body language
Telling parents/other staff about how well behaved a child has been
Rewards eg stickers, star charts
Certificates for good behaviour
Highlighting postive behaviour eg "isn't Jack sharing the lego nicely?"
Rewarding good behaviour with choices eg chosing the book for storytime
Withdrawing priveledges when negative behaviour persists eg one minute less on the computer
Using circle time to discuss aspects of behaviour eg bullying, sharing etc
Drawing a sad face on the board when negative behaviour is seen, encourage the child to get it wiped off by improving their behaviour
Being a good role model!!
