Default How long do you keep......

Registration forms, emergency contact forms, absence forms etc etc after a child has left??

I know any accident reports need to be kept 'forever' but we are rapidly running out of space for our old records. Can these be shredded after a certain period of time after the child has left?

Thank you

There are various times for various documents - best to ask your LA worker for advise. I do have a list at work but not handy.
I know what you mean about space- we're running out. I asked if I could shred the old grant claim forms after a year as we had a copy of sumbitted claimes etc, but no- we were told to keep then 7 years I think it was (might have been 3 though!)

I'll need a care home with a very large safe if I carry on working for much longer! :rotfl:
