How many hours do any preschool leaders get to do extra paperwork like opperational plans , policies, risk assessments, planning etc. as I have just been told my hours will be cut back.Do you do it all in your own time?

Not surprisingly a lot is done in own time.., for most the reason being purely economic and unable to afford to pay.. but we do get paid 6 hours a week for admin.. and 1 hour a week for all staff for on site admin.. they work an extra hour one day a week to do learning diaries/ journeys/ observations and other bits which need doing..

I document and show a time sheet for the hours taken to do this work, and then ask what they want you to stop doing by cutting your hours.. perhaps it just needs showing time needed to do these tasks...

Hello,

I am not a pre-school leader although i know someone that is lol
Most is done in her own time although she is paid for this.
The hourly rate is lower than being in the setting but is paid for however long it takes.
Risk assessments she will try and fit in during the day.
Planning is now a group effort and is done during weekly staff meetings which has cut down on some of the extra paper work.

On top of this i easy do 10 plus in my own time for other admin. i am trying to come to some arrangement for xtra ones done especially when i have got the self evaluation forms to do aswell !!! Why are your hours being cut surely they have to explain why
