i know this is based on younger children but this is the reason to follow manufactures rules
Manufactures guidelines accidents happen when children choke or use equipment designed for older children say if a 3 year tried going on a skateboard it would be an accident waiting to happen. This is why manufactures guidelines must be followed by law a manufacturer must state if a product is dangerous to younger children.if unsure remove it and check.

hope this helps

I know of a case where a playgroup bought a garden slide for their group. After a few months the slide was broken, so the playgroup worker took the slide back to the shop. The shop said that the slide was only intended for family rather than group use and so would not replace it.
Also had a child been hurt as a result of the slide breaking then the playgroup's insurance would have been invalid.
A warning for us all here I think!
Cheers
Ann
