Where inequalities are more likely to take place? - geographical areas

hi i am looking for help on a question my assessor has set me : within discrimination i have had to wride down all different types of discrimination and how they affect children and their families BUT not i have to explain WHERE INEQUALITIES ARE MOR THAN LIKELY TO TAKE PLACE? i know its probably common sence but been doing coursework all day and head is like mush now and this is the only part i have to finish!! any help would be great thanks

Discrimination ocurrs when people are treated unfairly because of stereotypical views held about the group they belong to or are perceived to belong to. There are all kinds of stereotypes, and people treat others unfairly based on a broad range of them. However, discrimination is commonly based on:

Disability
Ethnicity
Culture
Race
Religion
Gender
Age
Sexuality
Low socio-economic group.

Inequalities are embedded in our society, in all geographical areas. It is not possible to identify where within the home counties certain prejudices or stereotypical beliefs are held because they are widespread and complex.

We have more equal opportunities legislation and awareness now than ever before, and children are growing up in settings that are required to promote equal opportunities. We can do this by: having leaflets and advertisements that feature the service so that families and communities can easily see the values.

It is good practice to have transparent procedures about admissions. This means making it clear how places are given to families, demonstrating that this is done fairly.

The effects of discrimination and inequality, within families that experience it discrimination can lead to:

Missed opportunities that may affect a child's experience and therefore impact on development
Low self-esteem
Low confidence
Little sense of self-worth or self-value
Confused identity
Fear of rejection.

Inequality has a negative effect on all children, even if they have not been the target of discrimination. If one child is stopped from participating within a group, then the rights of all the children to participate equally, alongside on another, are affected. Children should not be exposed to inequality, regardless of whether they are the target if it. They should not be introduced to discrimination - this is introducing children to what, after all, criminal behaviour.
