Oh and here is 193 to get you started

On arrival, parent/carers should hand over medicines to a member of staff, who is appointed first aider for that day. That member of staff will log the medicine in a book/medicine form to include child’s name, name of medication, dosage, time of administration. First aider is to sign the form when medicine has been given; parent counter signs the form when parent collects.

Medicine should be stored away from so that they are out of children’s reach like in a locked cupboard.

You should not at all give medicines without any signed forms or written permission, this also includes creams and administrating inhalers.

K3h193 is asking how you store and give medicine in your setting, we have a policy that states all parents have to sign a form before we are able to give the child prescribed and unsubscribed medicines and we also store medicines in the fridge in a secure container and also in a locked cupboard out of the childrens reach. Parents are asked to sign the medicine book when they collect the child from nursery.

hope this help, good luck.

Hiya... here we go.... 201... here is what I got. Hope it helps you xx

Fire Procedures and evacuation

• Fire doors are clearly marked, never obstructed and can easily be opened from inside.
• Smoke detectors/alarms and fire fighting appliances conform to BSEN standards and are checked.
• Emergency evacuation procedures are approved by fire safety officer and are clearly displayed on the premises
• It is explained to new members of staff, volunteers and parents that fire drills are regularly practiced at least once every 6 weeks.
• Plan of premises showing layout and fire exits should be displayed
• In an event of a fire everyone, inc children/staff/volunteers should evacuate from the nearest and safest fire exit.
• A register should be done once outside to make sure everyone is out of the building
• Emergency service will be summoned using a mobile telephone held by a supervisor/manager
• Once emergency services have been contacted the supervisor will contact all parents/carers in order to remove the children as soon as possible.

Missing Children

• The person in charge will carry out a thorough search f the building and garden
• A member of staff will search the surrounding area, especially if a park is close by
• All other children are gathered to the carpet/book corner, keeping them all calm, a distraction like a group activity, story, singing gentle songs.
• Re-call the register and re-do a head count to make sure that no-one else has gone missing
• Person in charge discuss with other members of staff to establish what happened, last time child was seen.
• If the child is not found, the parent of child is contacted and the missing child is reported to the police.
