We must treat all children as individuals and change our behaviour and communication to support their needs.
By reacting to how the children communicate and changing how we communicate to fit them, we make it easier for them to communicate with us, and make them more comfortable. Children who are comfortable communicating develop better behaviour, emotional development and social skills
How do you change your language to fit certain situations? When a child has done something bad/ good? When they are sad/ happy? To help them when communicating with each other? To aid them in exploring?
Do you talk to them different depending on their age or ability? Do you ask rhetorical questions of a baby, but very open questions for a pre-schooler?
You probably get the idea, I do find myself repeating a lot, I think for one question I even just copied my answer over...
