Default Summarise the relevant policy and age-related expectations of learners relevant to literacy. HELP please.

Hi

My question is regarding the question in the 'Support literacy development' unit which asks me to summarise the relevant policy and age-related expectations of learners relevant to literacy... The handbook quotes the national primary literacy framework and 12 strands, which I believe is now out of date and has been replaced by the national curriculum. So my thinking is that I should summarise the parts of the national curriculum relevant to English (literacy) and summarise the age-related expectations, which are the things a pupil should work on, and so know at the end of each year.

My question is whether I am on the right tracks? If I do this it will be a long involved answer. I am happy to do this but if I'm barking up the wrong tree I need to be stopped now and corrected!!

I've not had much luck so far finding support so I really hope someone can help. TIA x

Hi a warm welcome to the site. The criteria itself relates specifically to your school's literacy policy and what its contents state children will be expected to achieve at their different ages or stages. If the policy mentions the current curriculum or directs you to it for further information then you'll be able to include it in this particular summary xx

Best wishes
