2.2 How does your setting meet the right for children to play?

I am really stuck on this question

Play is a right for all children and children should be provided with plenty of opportunities to play.

There are many ways in which early years settings meet the right of children to play. They do this by giving children opportunities to choose what they want to play and what they want to play with.

Early years settings provide time for children to play indoors and outdoors.

They also provide a wide range of equipment and resources for the children to use in these environments.

Think about, and explain how setting meets children’s rights to play.

Hi, play and relaxation are rights under article 31 of the UNCRC. If you apply each of the statements your tutor has given you to your own workplace/setting what could you write about?

Play is a right for all children and children should be provided with plenty of opportunities to play - Does your setting use EYFS, plan activities that are child-led, initiated and organise the layout of the setting, inside and outside so that children have lots of opportunities to play (are there different areas for different types of play)?

Can children select different resources by themselves in your setting for example construction toys, art materials?

What equipment does your setting have for outdoor play? and what sort of resources are indoors?
