Help SOS Help needed with Playwork Level 3 pw3.20

I am doing my playwork level 3 and some of the questions are very difficult as I never come across in work PW3.20:

4.4 Explain the importance of confidentiality and how to balance the need to respect confidential information about parents, carers and families with the welfare of the child

4.5 Explain how to provide appropriate support and reassurance to parents, carers and families of disabled children, and those with learning difficulties or additional support needs and the types of support that could be provided

4.6 Describe a range of situations that may cause conflict with parents, carers and families and how to deal with these effectively

4.8 Explain what is meant by a ‘shared understanding’ with parents, carers and families and how to achieve this

6.1 Explain the value of parents as ‘partners’ in the play process

6.2 Define the limits of confidentiality in relation to children and young people - what should and should not be shared with parents and carers

6.3 Explain key role of parents and carers in safeguarding and promoting children and young people’s welfare

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the site, the level 3 playwork handbook is good for this research.

About confidentiality

Parents as partners on amazon examines the absolute importance of your relationship with children's carers and this thread may also help

The research underpinning the PEAL project is relevant reading, if you ask your course provider they may have printouts for you, playendland and playwork on NCB also have supportive reading available, again if possible ask your course provider for recommendations.

4.5 is about your professional practice & how you'd offer and find support for parents & children that access or attend your playwork service. One type of support could be speech & langage therapy and to fit it into context, if any of your children recieved this support you would respect their privacy and confidentiality by not sharing that information with other parents attending the playwork setting. You might work in partnership with the child and their parents so that the efforts provided by the SaLT team continues whilst the child is in your care, you may also find yourself as part of a team around the child, helping to support their development in all their settings. See if your gov.uk website has details on the type of support offered locally.

4.6 examples of conflict might be the viewing age on films or the play age on console/computer games, firemaking, using hammer & nails, personal safety and time keeping when out and about eg. climbing and internet safety.

Hope this helps, best wishes with your study xx
