Coffee The forum is HUGE ... why?

Why is this forum so big… ?

When we built the forums, it was and is, our intention to supply all our members with relevant, imaginative and easily found information!

It was only when we realised there were sooooo many forums did we start to worry that it may actually scare people off from joining us!!!

The main 'rooms' … the first group … are where you’ll find us all at our busiest chatting…. The rest of the Topic/Theme forums are research and activity based, in existence to help your play planning & Early Years curriculum needs.

We have seen great activities & ideas drop down through forums as more threads are added and we wanted to provide a place to save all these ideas and make sure they ended up in where everyone can come along, read down a list of title headings and know exactly where to find what they want.

The same goes if you need help deciding which topic to plan for next.... we have lots to choose from and even if the forums only have 1 or 2 posts in them - it will still be an incredible resource base that will continue to grow as the years pass!

......................................

What we don’t want.... is to stop people asking for ideas in the 'top rooms' just because we have growing lists of things they can easily use in the rest of the forums….. so we are hoping that requests will keep rolling into the official area or general chat.. be answered in there, but also be posted in the corresponding topic forum….. further down !!

......................................

How to use your forum…

These are a few tips on how to contribute to our growing knowledgebase.

Use each of the theme & topic forums to ….
  • Post your planning tips, ideas and suggestions in. Past, present & future!
  • Whilst ‘out’ browsing the net… if you find anything you think… ‘Oh wow, good idea’….. come back to us and post what you’ve found in the theme forum …or a web link to the information.
Don’t forget you can …..
  • Post the same information in as many forums places as you want … if it is appropriate!
......................................

Control your forums.....

:magnify: If you want to keep up with the latest posts Click ‘today’s posts'….

Located on the top right bar (just under your login area)

:magnify: if you are ALREADY Logged in ..... find 'New posts' located on the same top bar.

......................................

:starry-ey Use the ‘Collapse forum’ buttons to control the area you're looking at.
Located on the right hand edge of the bar

Members can then read down the forum headings for inspiration on what topics they can plan for … and not feel our forum is about to scroll right out of their monitor screen LOL !

......................................

PLEASE remember..
Report anything you see that is offensive or likely to upset, to a moderator or administrator.

Hi Air

Chloe's right, everything on Silkysteps is free (the shop will be the only area to buy things!)

You will need the latest version of Adobe acrobat to open and read the pdf's - this is because of the security settings I have in place.

Download the newest one from here...
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Things should work okay for you then
