Notebook Cemetery Cake!

I just thought I would share my Halloween creation with you. I was appalled by the cost of a shop-bought cake, so I made my own...

I made a simple sponge in a square tin, covered it with green icing, sprinkled coconut and sprayed that green with food colouring then stuck in my shortbread gravestones - engraved using a cocktail stick and ta-daa!! I'm very pleased with it and I hope I inspire some of you to have a go too.

The shortbread recipe I used:

9oz plain flour
3oz caster sugar
6oz butter

Mix together flour and sugar, rub in butter, knead to form a smooth paste, then bake for 30 mins at 160oC.

Everyone is 'dying' to try it!
