page 155 of this EYE handbook looks at the different ways/strategies that a setting can encourage participation. Use them alongside what your setting does to work with parents.
Learning journeys or daily dairies - portfolios that details children's developmental achievements and interests. These are shared regularly with parents and activities that parents go on to do with their children at home are then shared with the setting.
Parent workshops - these meetings can be set up to look at different aspects of children's development such as play, or providing information to parents about the early years curriculum.
Noticeboards, suggestions and feedback - areas to share information such as activity ideas, events and general informaiton and processes to collect information are positive strategies for working in partnership.
Learning resources - toy, story sacks and book lending schemes are useful strategies to support parents who might not have the same items at home, money to buy new resources.
