Hi, what Health and Safety policies have you got from your setting?

As an example, page 109 of the EYE handbook lists policies for;
  • Health and Safety policy - which will explain that first aid boxes are availble, where they are and that a first aider must be onsite holding an uptodate paediatric qualification
  • In the event of a fire policy
  • Manual handling policy - a policy that says trianing will be given to teach staff to lift children and equipment safely.
  • COSHH - stating where chemicals/cleaners are kept
  • RIDDOR - reporting accidents, incidents and emergencies in a book.
  • No smoking policy
  • Staff - child ratios
  • Visitors policy - signing in so that they are identified
  • Safety of children at the end of the session - checking to make sure children go home with parents or named people
Hope this helps
