Managing physical resources

I am attempting this unit on managing physical resources and feel I am totally off the tracks and wonder if anyone could help.

explain the importance of using sustainable resources
explain the potential impact of resource use on the environment
explain how to use resources effectively and efficiently
describe actions one can take to minimise any adverse environmental impact o using physical resources

I know physical resources refers to the building and other equipment and have ended up looking at greenhouse effects but how how doe this relate to working in childcare?

Hi, I liken this to the sentiment 'with great responsibility comes great power' :)

At level 5 you'll find times where your experience enables you to make sourcing, purchasing and usage suggestions for colleagues and the setting.

Where those resources come from have an impact - on the environment via the item's raw materials, on health and safety and the potential for harm in the setting, and opportunities for learning - what a toy/activity offers in terms of supporting children's outcomes & potential V it's cost and expected life.

Being able to justify the reasons as to how you manage physical resources eg. equipment, tools, art & craft items, plants, food, helps you comply with legislation, evidence your duty of care & protect the worldwide environment :)

On a side note, The trouble with dragons is a cool children's storybook that examines sustainability and the resources used in a fiery world!

that was a big help for me now 'im stuck on Monitor the quality of resources against required specifications.
Analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of resource use in own area of responsibility.
Make recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of resource use.
