Hi everyone. Really stuck here.

Firstly Hello! I am new here and have only just discovered this site. Hopefully I can help where I can as well.
I am stuck on a specific question, I have my own ideas, but was wondering what other peoples opinions are. It would be very very much appreciated. Thanks soooo much xxxx
Q. Why is it important to follow policies and procedures in schools which help to safeguard the pupils? Thankyou xx

when supervising children you should always be aware of the risks they may/could be exposed to .The every child matters framework.these policies are in place so you know your responsibilies and understand what you need to do to safe guard the children at all times.and any risks/hazards are dealt with properly.http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/everychildmat...out/aims/aims/ i hope this might help

Your policies re safeguarding are to ensure that you are able to look up the best and proper way to act in any case relating to safeguarding (and many other things too)
For example lets say a child went missing from your setting. Quick! What would you do?
Many people (me included), might become panicky and flustered, but your policies and procedures have been thought about calmly and with plenty of time before any such incident. Therefore you can look at them and follow their step by step instructions and be sure that you are doing the right thing.

Hope this helps
Ann
