Book Review The Magic Sky - see the northern lights and enjoy the advent countdown

Early years book reviews for Preschool

The Magic Sky by Lucy Richards

Links are in association with Silkysteps Amazon affiliate account - and 'we've just recieved a second payout, this one for £26.54p Thank you xx

This is an excellent title for any one or group to explore the build up experience of a forthcoming event, what waiting is all about and how you can occupy the time using day to day activities.

Please note the story line focusses on the northern lights rather than Christmas and could be used for how soon a Birthday will arrive, an expected visit from friends / family or other event. It's a wonderfully personalised book with our edition featuring a photo of the Author's own Snowoman - built at the age of 7 and wearing a favourite hat belonging to her Aunt.

With a short introduction to the lights it goes on to tell Rory's tale of his first adventurous build up to watching the nightime spectacular ...

-------------------------------
BLURB:

One night at bedtime
Rory's Mummy tells him all about the magic sky.
But how long will he have to wait?

A heart warming story with a sparkly surprise - for those who can wait !

--------------------------------

Activities that could accompany and compliment this book

Advent calendar making and hanging.
Use the book to look at countdowns, 'how many more sleeps' and the excitement of wanting a day to come quickly ..

Use oils on the water tray to see rainbow swirls and fiber optic torches for demonstrating the changing colours.

Role play arctic bears, inuits, igloos and snow, and dress up with cloaks/hoods/hats/mittens/gloves - things that can keep you warm in the colder evening, nights - or to dress a snowperson inflatable :snowman:

Have fun with this and please let us know of any activities you plan around it ..

xx
