Hi, page 401 & 402 of this level 2 CYPW handbook lists the benefits of a healthy diet and the consequences of an unhealthy diet

Benefit:
  • Keeping active: a healthy diet boosts energy levels, improves bodily functions, boosts the immune system to increase resistance to illness and infection, increases life expectancy.
  • Getting daily nutritional needs: a healthy diet reduces the risk of minor and more serious illnesses such as cancer and diabetes. Healthy teeth, hair, skin and bones
  • Enjoy learning and life: a healthy diet can make them feel more positive and learn more effectively and reduce stress levels.
  • Sleeping well: a healthy diet will enable them to sleep more easily and feel more rested
  • Losing weight without a diet: Healthy eating is more likely to promote a steady weight loss and be maintained.
Consequence of an unhealthy diet is obesity which causes
  • problems with joints
  • headaches
  • drowsiness
  • snoring
  • gall bladder disease
  • high blood pressure
  • high cholesterol
  • low self-esteem
  • risk of Type 2 Diabetes later in life, although children can contract this disease.

Too much sugar in a diet can cause tooth decay https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/eat-wel...ct-our-health/
