Hi and welcome to the site

Taking the lead or considering yourself able to be a role model in areas helps to set expectations and boundaries - how you respond and react to others and how they respond and react to you & others.

With communication if you are polite, understanding, patient and open you can hope others will recognise this and do the same in return.

Negative role models may shout, be dismissive, undermine, mock or ridicule children or colleagues.

This is a dated but is an informative article from ezinearticles - The power of communication

Hth, enjoy Silkysteps
xx
