Hi, your role positions you as part of a team, within the nursery and in much wider concept as part of the UK's child and young people's workforce. You help deliver the aims of your setting by ensuring children have opportunities to discover, learn and develop so that they're enabled to fulfill their own potential. You are part of the mechanism that safeguards each child, protecting them from harm and working in partnership with the setting's parents. Your role is of paramount importance as your place in the team enables you to influence and impact the way things happen.

Consider your job title and your job description. What does it say you do and what does the setting's prospectus say?

This booklet is dated (2004) but pages 29 to 34 of the ERR workbook may help.

Page 15 of this publication may also help, relate it to your work in the nursery rather than health and social care.

Best wishes
