Refer. I feel that a little more information is required before you have met the standards and learning outcomes for question please Rozanne. It is acceptable to use bath time as an example of an opportunity to play and you could mention toys or games and how they can be used to support play for example. Please expand on your answer.

Hi a very warm welcome to the site, happy you made it in ok xx

For these you need to think about your workplace and the range of different resources (which are toys, books & other equipment) it has for the children to use and the different type of activities that happen in your setting.

This explanation is from page 150 of the level 2 EYE course book:

Resources
  • The quality of resources is essential - they need to be age-and-stage appropriate.
  • In group settings, there also has to be enough so that several children can do the same thing.
  • Children need to be able to see several possibilities. Where children spend many hours in a setting, resources will need to be refreshed (changed).
The activity suggestions below are just that, if you aren't familiar with them then please consider using another idea that you know happens in your setting as you'll have many more experiences to write about.

P. 154 From birth to one year: in the first year of life, toys and other resources need to be seen as tools that can help adults to interact and entertain babies.

Birth to 11 months > Play activity:
Tummy time and block stacking.
Birth to 11 months > Resource: A comfortable place, baby gym, hand held rattles that babies can put in their mouths, stacking toys for babies that are sitting up (with or without adult support)

1 year - 1 year 11 months > Play activity: Water play (a sensory activity)
1 year - 1 year 11 months > Resource: Cups and sieves for pouring and filling, boats and other toys that float and sink.

2 years - 2 years 11 months > Play activity (could be any of): Sit & Ride, story telling, chunky jigsaws.
2 years - 2 years 11 months > Resource: Pushalong toys or quiet area for sharing books or table top with chunky jigsaw puzzles.

3 years - 3 years 11 months > Play activity: Mark making and cutting
3 years - 3 years 11 months > Resource: Safety scissors, chalk or pencils and paper.

4 years - 5 years 11 months > Play activity: Role play
4 years - 5 years 11 months > Resource: puppets and drsssing up clothes

If you use the preview/look inside feature on amazon for the book Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner - search inside for the phrase 'characteristics of effective learning' then click to page 154 where you can read more about the activity ideas.

All the best xx
