Default Please HELP!!! Level 2 STLS..Unit 3 EQuality, Diversity and Inclusion in work with C & YP

I am undertaking NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. However, having been out of the Academic Field for a long time, I am really struggling with the Assignements(Questions). Henceforth, I need help with the following questions:

TDA 2.4:
While providing playground supervision one lunctime, you hear James make a racist comment towards Myra. Myrs seems upset by James's comments and walks off to the other side of the playground

1) What can you do to help in this situation?

2) How can you challenge the discrimination?

3) How does your workplace promote ant-discriminatory practice?

Hi, a warm welcome to the site. Consider what you would actually do in a situation like this in your setting.

Is it possible that by intervening you could help James understand his words were hurtful and had upset Myra?

Ask for a copy of your schools equality, equal opportunity, diversity or anti-discriminatory policy. It'll contain good reading about what the school aims to achieve and maybe includes expectations.

If you have the level 2 STL handbook you'll also find supportive reading on pages 51+ of the TDA 2.4 unit equality, inclusion and diversity in work with children and young people

Hth, best wishes

Hi yes, speak with your course provider as quickly as possible and organise a placement as the course isn't meant to be guesswork xx

Your tutor and a handbook will support professional knowledge - level 2 STL handbook and a setting once it's sorted will offer you examples of daily practice.
