from sitting on the fence I can see both sides!!

personally I did the Fd route and loved it - and would recommend this as it leaves options open, you never know how you're going to feel a few years along the line - For me I enjoyed it so much I then went on to do the full BAhons rather than just doing EYPs. However my friend teaches L4 and says this is the way to go - you can get 'credits' towards a FD (although you should note this area is not a 'level playing feild' and the credits offered vary greatly form uni to uni) Once again I think the key issues here is to do your own thourough research and see what suits you best.

I have been asking myself the same question, and have decided on the foundation degree. My UCAS application will be sent before Christmas!

I have just stated my BA Early Years just to be one step ahead of the game due to the every changing goal posts. Aleady completed Level 4 but have to do it again due to different modules being covered. Year 2 will be NVQ L5 and Year 3 is equivellent to NVQ L6 which will give me my degree.

i am doing a level 4 always and i can go straight onto the level 5 then do a 1 year top up course at uni to get the full degree then go onto early years teacher status. so it looks good both ways. the nvq route does give a bit more freedom though
