Parents and children need to feel safe within the setting, parents need to be assured that all of the welfare requirements/ needs of the child are being met.
without accountability childcarers would not have to follow any guidelines, this would leave children at serious risk of harm; by having an independant body (ofsted) to monitor the provision it protects a childs right to be safe from harm, enjoy and acheive, be healthy, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well being.
By monitoring provision it also allows a provision to achieve the best outcomes for the children in their care by providing direction and correction where needed.
Does this make any sense it's 12.38 am:yawn:

definition: the need for accountability to

Means that the registered person has to be responsable for the provisions provided, making sure that things are being followed correctly eg legislations ect. They must take responsabilty for anything that goes wrong and fix it. AND then link this to children, parents, families and other agencies.

I.e children: this helps children to feel secure and thrive within a safe environment, allowing all children opportunities to reach their full potential.
