SOS Activity for PSED and emotional well-being

Can anyone help me with an activity for an opportunity which promotes the personal, social and emotional development and emotional well-being of children aged: 0-1 year 11 months, 2-2 years 11 months and 3-5 years?

I don't know if I am overthinking it!

Hi, a very warm welcome to the site.

Page 341+ of the EYE handbook suggests a few activities for these age ranges

0-1 yr 11mths
  • Peek a boo
  • Playing with mirrors - helping children to develop a sense of identity.
  • Knock down play - cause and effect, stacking and knocking over helps children to feel powerful helps them realise that they have control over some objects.
  • Meal times
  • Musical gadgets
2-2 years 11mths old (page 342)
  • Playing with water and sand
  • Looking at photographs
  • Laying the table
  • Making dough
  • Home corner play
Quote:
Children in this age range are known to be impulsive and active and this has to be borne in mind when thinking of play opportunities, especially in terms of safety. Two year olds are also still learning how to tske turns and may be able to do this if they are given support by adults. They are also starting to enjoy sensory materials and so opportunities for these can work well as, through sensory materials, children can express their feelings.

3-5 years (page 343)
  • Painting and drawing - as a way to explore feelings and experiences
  • Sharing books
  • Sensory materials and small-world play
  • Role play
  • Cooking activities
Hope this helps xx
