the question is
describe why it is important to recognise and report any concerns that you may have noticed in relation to a child or young persons developmentt

Give examples from practice
You need to recognise when a child is not progressing (through your knowledge, continuing learning and understanding of children)and why they may not be, it could be because:
physically or mentally/cognitive level developmentally behind
emotional - possibly a new baby in the family
neglect - not thriving due to poor parenting etc
physically or sexually abused
environment in which they live - in a flat - no garden and not taken out etc
SEN children wil have different needs
illness - short term or long term ( diabetic etc)
and lots of other reasons..........

whatever the reason if a child in not developing or progressing, you need to recognise the signs so that you can help that child.

For your examples think of children from your setting that have needed help and/or intervention to progress etc. Ask your Senco or manager for them to share their experiences and knowledge with you.
