NVQ or Diploma?

Hi,

I was wondering is level 3 nvq the same as a level 3 diploma? If their is a difference what is it??

Mines the level 3 diploma, but I am a little confused as my friend who has a NVQ level 3 got turned down from a University for having a nvq level 3, they told her she needs a level 3 diploma.

I thought they was the same?

The Qualification used to be called NVQ level 3 they have changed it to the Diploma level 3 to raise the standard of knowledge of practitioners so the Level 3 Diploma is now valued as higher and so is a University entrance level
