Help SOS YP009-03 HELP PLEASE, I'm getting desperate

Can anyone help me please? This is my final unit and I've totally hit the wall with it so I'm literally BEGGING for help!

I don't know whether I'm just being dense but I'm not sure what they're looking for with this question?

1.2 Explain the factors that may affect the needs of these young people, such as physical, medical and mental health care, social and sexual well being or harmful behaviours.

Hi,

Unit 61 - YP 009-03 Support young people with mental health problems

1. To understand the issues affecting young people with mental health problems look at the factors that impact on their needs.

Needs include an individual knowing that they have rights - right to safety, protection from abuse & harmful working practices/environments, receive medical care and be healthy, access education, be given timely & accurate information, have food, water, warmth, shelter.

Social factors that impact on the needs of young people:
-- Homelessness
-- Employment
-- Money - income, benefits, loans
-- Relationships with others and the opinions that are expressed that would influence a young person's personal choices & decision making.
-- pressures, stress, expectations and attitudes towards young people

Physical factors could be:
-- levels of activity
-- nutrition = eat well from rcpsych
-- development
-- disability
-- mobility
-- displays or victim of physical violence

Medical & Mental health factors:
-- depression
-- victim of abuse
-- taking medication
-- recognising signs and symptoms of illness in self & recognising the importance in seeking help/advice.

Sexual health and the sense of well-being associated with knowing about safe sex, contraception, pregnancy, rape, STI/Ds.

Harmful behaviours might be that not having knowing about the above issues creates risks to young people's own health and their relationships with others. Other harmful behaviours could be self-harming, suicidal thoughts, drugs, alcohol abuse, agression, violence.

Hi, just wondering how you got on with this in the end? I'm doing this unit at the moment and like you were, I'm really quite confused - I think the wording of 1.1 and 1.2 is pretty awful, it really doesn't make it clear what is being asked for. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be talking about factors that can bring on a mental illness, or things that can make it worse, or something else entirely! Also, surely it depends on the what the mental illness is, as to what the needs are? There are so many different mental health problems, it would take an age to go through all the different needs and the factors that can affect them!

Any pointers would be very much appreciated thank you!
