When you examine your beliefs , values and feelings it can be difficult and unconformable as you could uncover some issues about your self and or the way you have been working or the way the setting is run. You might feel that you have not been handling situations in a way that is appropriate or as well as you should of although this is a painful experience and cold potentially shatter your self confidence. we should ensure that we look at this over the long term and how we can improve this in the future this could be by further training in that area. In some situations you could even discuss your findings with somebody you trust or a colleague for advice and allow you to express your feelings. In some cases your thoughts might be right because of how you have been brought up and because of your values and beliefs but may not be right for the setting or others children/peoples values and beliefs.

Reflection and practice allows child care workers to ensure we are following the settings policies and procedures, as sometimes our working practice might not promote them. We might all think we know and understands the policies and procedures but this does not mean we always follow them, by reflecting we can identify areas where we need to change our work and we’re other working environment to ensure where we are following all policies and procedures, we may steal the need further learning or development within a certain area. We need to reflect on all our work to ensure we are following our policies and procedures and given the children to chimes to develop to their full potential and also enables staff to create a better and more efficient working way and environment.
