training leaflets to explain serious case reviews?
hi guys, really stuck on this question wondering if any of you could help?
A child in a local nursery has recently been seriously injured on a climbing frame. As a result a serious case review was undertaken. Parents in your play group are anxious and are comparing this serious case review to high profile public inquiries. In addition, parents have also been questioning staff about the safety and safeguarding measures that your setting has in place. In order to support and reassure parents, your manager has asked you to develop training materials for the staff members.
Your training resources should explain:
• the wider concept of safeguarding children for the setting, giving examples of best practice (ref 1.4) including; Wider concept this could include– FGM, exorcism, mutilation, diet, health and safety, risk assessments, child exploitation.
• the procedures for serious case reviews and how they differ from public inquiries (ref 2.4)
• the impact serious case reviews have on all stakeholders involved in safeguarding children. This should include agencies and individuals involved (ref 2.4)
• how serious case reviews have informed practice. (ref 2.4)
