Default CYP3.1 how the police can influence development

hi everyone, i have drawn a blank here. the task is "Institutions, agencies and services can influence children’s development. ... record the ways in which you think they could do this"

i have given examples for all institutions, agencies and services, such as the with early intervention from a senco, a child is able to receive tailored plans and receive support that will target specific learning difficulties. I have wrote how a care institution could have a detrimental effect on the ability of children to form positive relationships due to lack of attachments.

but I just cant think of what to write to say how the police can influence a child's development.

thankyou.x

Hi, CEOP offers a way to work with children by using their information & reporting services to protect against online abuse. You might also find there are in-school programmes where community support officers visit settings to discuss local & national issues.

eg. Dorset's http://www.dorset.police.uk/default.aspx?page=3638 & Gloucestershire's safer schools http://www.gloucestershire.police.uk.../item4079.html

All this provides a healthy perspective on the approachability and work that the police force is involved in. Children are made aware of ways they can protect themselves, know where to find help and be able to see what's happening in their local environment.

Physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and through communication and language children can stay safe by making informed personal choices & decisions.

Hth xx
