Hi

Why not involve the children in creating their own story book
I quite like this idea

I Am Thumbody!

Have each child print his thumb print on a sheet of paper. Across the top of the paper write "I Am Thumbody!"
Explain that each person has a unique thumb print that distinguishes him or her from all other people.
Encourage each child to think about their abilities and qualities that make them unique in the setting, and help them to scribe these.
For example, he is the only student named Travis and he has a pet tarantula!
Make these into their very own group book which celebrates individuality

Hi, how about using the thumbody book (amazing idea ) alongside a storybook that looks at cultural diversity eg. All kinds of people, maybe write your story a little like a diary adventure/reflective account? where you explain how a group of children read and listened to a story about all kinds of people and then inlcude the pages that the children make about themselves alongside your written details/text narration? read the finished book together on another occasion where everyone can revisit the artwork they created?

xx
